Artificial breeding of a precious Yangtze fish successful
|

After threeyear hard work, researchers from the CAS Institute of Hydrobiology
(IOH) have made successful attempts in entire artificial propagation of Megalobrama
pellegrini (Tchang), an endemic species of carp in the Yangtze Valley noted for its
bigger size and high economic value. They obtained about 60,000 fries of its second-generation offspring on July 28 and August 8.
