Opening ceremony of "2005 Beijing Digital Museum Seminar" was held in
the Beijing Museum of Natural History at 9:00am May 16. Around 100 experts
and scholars in the field of digital museum from France, Italy, Australia,
Japan,and such cities in china as Beijing, Shanghai, Fujian Province,
Hubei Province, Guangdong Province and Taiwan province and so on gathered
happily. During 3 days from May 16 to 18, on the purpose of exchanging
information, learning from each other and cooperating to develop and
concentrating on the theme of Digital Museum construction and development,
by the way of exchanging information, discussion on certain topics and
field trips, they showed the success of the world famous museum's
digitalization and the achievements of Digital Museum. Through interactive
communication, and discussion on the certain topics such like "the status
and development Digital Museum", "Digital Museum and intellectual property
right protection", and "construction and management of digital Olympic
museum", they conferred upon new ideals and methods of the development of
Digital Museum, and promoted the construction of the macrocosmic layout of
Beijing Digital Museum construction and the establishment of Beijing digital
Olympic museum.
The Digital Museum seminar was coorganized by Beijing Association for
Sciences and Technology, Beijing Bureau of Cultural Relics and Beijing
Municipal Office of Informatization. Leaders form State Administration of
Cultural Heritage, China Association for Sciences and Technology, China
Science and Technology Museum, Beijing Association for Sciences and
Technology, Beijing Bureau of Cultural Relics and Beijing Municipal Office
of Informatization have attended this seminar.
