On 23 March, the CAS-RIKEN Frontier Science Workshop was held in Beijing. The meeting, which is co-sponsored by CAS and RIKEN and organized by the CAS Institute of Microbiology, brought together more than 30 young Chinese and Japanese scientists from the fields of physics, chemistry, life sciences, resources, environment and high-technology. Their topics under discussion were looking at ways for Asian scientists to contribute to a sustainable society. CAS Vice President CHEN Zhu and RIKEN President Ryoji Noyori delivered key-note speeches at the meeting.
